Matthew Stafford is the man in Detroit for several reasons and his new paycheck clearly prove that and more. The Detroit Lions and Matthew Stafford have agreed to a five year $135 million dollar extension giving Stafford the keys to the Lions offense for the next few years.

Stafford’s new deal also includes a $50 million dollar signing bonus. For now, Matthew Stafford is also officially the highest paid player in the history of the NFL. Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will change that in the near future.
