Both teams came into the game Sunday looking to get back on the winning side of things after both teams lost to the Brooklyn Nets in their last game action.
The Hawks came out the gate strong and they were clicking early from behind the three point line. In the first quarter Trae Young and Allen Crabbe both knocked down two three pointers each and they kept the Hawks in the game in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, both teams seems to settle down and put up the defensive effort. The Hawks put up 27 points as a team in the second quarter, the Hornets put up 26 points in the quarter and they took a (53-51) lead over the Hawks into halftime.
The Atlanta Hawks came out of the halftime breaking on fire. Cam Reddish scored his first two points of the game to start the half and Hawks forward Jabari Parker was rolling offensively. Parker came out and scored 9 points in the third quarter and his scoring seemed contagious.
Hawks big man Alex Len possibly played his best quarter this season in the third quarter. Len was a menace on defense and he was effective around the rim. After going scoreless in the first half, Len scored 11 points in the third quarter.
To begin the fourth quarter the Hawks picked up where they left off scoring the basketball. Trae Young and Vince Carter both were on fire from deep and after extending their lead to 15 points (100-85) with 9:35 remaining in the fourth, the Hawks never looked back.
For the Atlanta Hawks, Trae Young was the leading scorer of the night. Trae Young finished the night with 30 points and 9 assist in 35 minutes of action. Jabari Parker added 19 points on (7-12) shooting. Vince Carter scored 17 points on (7-11) shooting.
For the Charlotte Hornets both PJ Washington and Miles Bridges both finished the night with 20 points each. Devonte’ Graham added 12 points for Charlotte.
The Atlanta Hawks will continue their three game road trip on Tuesday night (Dec.10th) in Miami as they face the Miami Heat. The Hawks will also face the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday (Dec.11th) before returning to State Farm Arena on Friday December 13th to face the Indiana Pacers.
