“Quavo Night” will take over the next Atlanta Hawks Peachtree Night game on Thursday, Feb. 20. Rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, producer, director and HUNCHO of the Grammy-nominated group Migos, Quavo will be curating the game to reflect his unique flair and cultural influence as the Hawks take on Miami. Fans attending the game will also be treated to a free Hawks x Quavo co-branded t-shirt and a special halftime performance by Quavo’s new artist signing Street Bud.
Quavo, an Atlanta native, will make his return to the city after playing in the 2020 NBA All-Star Celebrity Basketball Game. This year’s appearance marks his third consecutive year in the game, where he won MVP in 2018. Along with being an avid basketball player, the rapper is a big supporter of youth sports and will also host several youth basketball players from the Hawks ‘Lady Ballers’ program, aimed to support youth basketball participation and improve the overall youth basketball experience for girls, at the theme-night game.
“As a season ticket member, I’m always at the Hawks games, and I’m excited to bring the Huncho vibe to their game experience,” said Quavo. “It’s also cool to introduce new talent from right here in the ‘A’. Street Bud is a star and fans will see that when he hits center court.”
At 15 years old, Street Bud, who previously won the fourth season of The Rap Game, a Lifetime reality television series hosted by Jermaine Dupri, when he was just 12 years old made him the youngest winner of the show ever. In 2019, the Atlanta teen was signed by Quavo and Quality Control. His latest single What’s the Move dropped last month on Quavo’s Huncho Records label.
Along with his worldwide success as part of the multi-platinum hip-hop group Migos, his debut solo album Quavo Huncho on Quality Control Music / Motown / Capitol contained breakout singles Workin Me and Bubblegum. As a songwriter, Quavo has contributed to two No. 1 hits on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart including DJ Khaled’s I’m The One featuring Justin Bieber, Chance The Rapper and Lil Wayne. His list of collaboration reads like a who’s who in music including Travis Scott, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Halsey, Calvin Harris, Camila Cabello, Bebe Rexha and many more.
