It is reported that Kyle Rittenhouse  will sue Joe Biden for libel, as the teenager featured in Biden’s presidential campaign ad related to white supremacy.

Following the debate on September 29, Biden took to his Twitter page to post a video that includes narration about the failure of Donald Trump in condemning white supremacists and militia groups. When moderator Chris Wallace’s mentions violence in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the clip showcases an image of Rittenhouse.

“There’s no other way to put it: the President of the United States refused to disavow white supremacists on the debate stage last night,” Biden penned the caption.

A lawyer of Rittenhouse called for a “public retraction” of the video. “I…hereby demand that @JoeBiden immediately retract his false accusation that Kyle is a white supremacist & militia member responsible for violence in Kenosha,” attorney Lin Wood tweeted. “He falsely accused a 17-year old boy & prejudiced Kyle’s legal rights.” He informed that he has plans of suing Biden for libel.

Rittenhouse has been accused of killing two protesters and wounding a third during a protest related to Jacob Blake’s shooting. He has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree reckless homicide.

However, his lawyers continue to claim that he is innocent, and claimed that he was offering medical assistance to people who have sustained injuries when he was “accosted by multiple rioters” and forced to defend himself.

On September 25, he appeared remotely for his extradition hearing. However, it was inconclusive and the judge stated that on October 9th hearing, a decision will be made.

As he remains behind bars, Rittenhouse has been enjoying substantial support from across the country. Recently, Christian crowdfunding site called GiveSendGo raised more than $520,000 for the teen. Rittenhouse previously thanked his fans “for the underlying support,” noting, “It’s been helpful.”
