England native Moibandaa continues to demonstrate exactly why he’s an artist to watch. Especially within the indie scene, the budding talent showcases versatility, youthful zeal and unwavering consistency. He recently produced an absolute banger “Lose Control”, and his fans have loved every second of it. He recently told us, “I was just vibing when I made this song and wasn’t thinking about whether it would gain traction this quickly. It was a song that reminded me of all the emotions I had pent up inside and had been struggling to release. Music is just one of those forms of art that you can use to escape reality or express yourself, and I think when I was making these songs it was a mixture of both.”
The 24-year-old spoke about the adversity he dealt with juggling collegiate sports, his university course load, fashion and focusing on music to express the things he was feeling deep down. Moibandaa emphasized that “it wasn’t easy, and still isn’t easy for me. There are days you get judged for the way you are and your mindset, but I’ve learned to not take offence to it and keep my eye on the prize. People around me don’t really understand what I’m doing or why I was the way I was, but they see the numbers and they think that I’m lucky. Sometimes it can be not very pleasant because deep down I know the journey I’ve been through to reach this point. I’m grateful for my team because they’ve helped put me in this position and I owe it to them and the man above”. The road to prosperity has been challenging as he describes the days when he felt confused and torn because he wasn’t exactly sure what he should focus his attention on.
Moibandaa credits several greats in various genres in the music industry and appreciates the way they all express themselves but in a different style. He states that “Seeing it up close in the studio both in the US and in the UK also has been pivotal for me because I see the work that they put in to get their music as close to perfect as they possibly can. Moibandaa states that “the knowledge I have acquired from them, combined with simply understanding that music is a form of art that can be used to express emotions, has been pivotal for me” The sky’s the limit for Moibandaa, and it’s only just the beginning.
