Every artist has their own aesthetic, and Chicago star K.O Mason slides into the limelight flaunting his lyricism with his new single and visual release, “Street Poetry.” Hip-hop is usually upbeat and hard-hitting these days, but K.O Mason brings an old soul twist to this new summer single. Easy on the ear, intriguing on the mind and undeniably a bop, “Street Poetry” is perfect for a summer night with the windows down, and volume up. Falling into the sub-genres of both conscious and cloud rap, K.O Mason uniquely stands out from what is currently being popularized.
The official visual is also aesthetically pleasing, with clear-cut scenes taking place in a nostalgic college campus setting, via Edward Waters University. The visual has glimpses of the Edward Waters Marching Band (whom can also be heard in the actual track), scenes on the bleachers, and many more nostalgic visually aesthetic vibes. K.O Mason is also evidently a lyrical storyteller, and conveying a message to the masses is clearly not a challenge for this talented artist. Sharing his artistry with the world through his own lens, K.O Mason will definitely have much longevity in hip-hop. Make sure to stream the official “Street Poetry” visual below:
