Mr. FoW, a rising star blending hip-hop and R&B, has found his own unique lane in the music world. His latest project, “Soul Boi III,” is a taste of something bigger brewing on the horizon, not just another album drop. We had a chance to sit down with Mr. FoW, to dig into the heart of his new LP, his creative journey, and where this multi-talented artist is headed next.

Q: Mr. FoW, can you tell us a bit about what “Soul Boi III” means to you personally?

Mr. FoW: Absolutely. “Soul Boi III” holds a special place in my heart. It’s not just another project; it’s a reflection of where I am, a snapshot in time. The release date, July 13th, felt significant, given the current state of the world. We released it on 713 day in Houston, Texas. 713 day is always a notable day because it’s Houston’s area code. I wanted to offer something relevant, something to resonate with people, on a big day.

Q: So, what’s the buzz been like since “Soul Boi III” dropped? What are the fans saying?

Mr. FoW: The response has been amazing. Soul Boi III has been my best release ever. Fans are really connecting with the tracks, especially “mDNA.” It’s been heartwarming to hear how the music resonates with them on a personal level. That’s what it’s all about for me—making music that people not only listen to, but truly feel.

Q: When someone tells you your music has touched their life, how does that feel?

Mr. FoW: It’s honestly the best feeling. Knowing something I created has helped someone through a rough patch, or even just shifted their perspective a bit, that’s incredibly powerful. It reminds me that music isn’t just about entertainment; it’s a genuine connection. Makes all those late nights in the studio worthwhile.

Q: Walk us through the creative process behind this LP. How did it all come together?

Mr. FoW: For me, creativity needs space to breathe. With “Soul Boi III,” I let ideas simmer for a while before jumping in. Mission Control Studios in Houston—that’s my creative sanctuary. It’s where ideas come alive. And having Chief Aleel mix and master? No question, his attention to detail is unmatched. The whole thing was pretty natural, no pressure, just a lot of playing around and refining until it felt right to release.

Q: You’ve got a pretty interesting career beyond music, too. Does that influence your music in any way?

Mr. FoW: Yeah, sometimes it surprises people to hear about my tech background. Before I really committed to music, I was deep in the tech world, working with big names like Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and WeWork. That experience taught me a lot about pushing boundaries and thinking outside the box, which definitely shows up in my music. Whether I’m producing a track or planning a show, it’s all about creating something that connects with people and leaves a mark. Plus, the tech world taught me to handle pressure. After presenting to a room full of execs, performing on stage feels like a walk in the park.

Q: So, what’s next on the horizon for Mr. FoW?

Mr. FoW: The possibilities feel endless. I have big dreams, not just for my music, but for my impact on the world. I see myself working with other artists, and exploring different creative avenues. Maybe even film or other forms of storytelling. I’m all about growth, and finding new ways to express myself. I don’t want to set any boundaries for this journey.

Q: Before we wrap up, got any words of wisdom for aspiring artists out there trying to find their own sound?

Mr. FoW: Don’t rush it. It’s tempting to want fame and recognition fast, but real growth takes time. Stay patient. Be true to yourself, and don’t shy away from taking risks. Most importantly, surround yourself with people who lift you up and push you to be better. It’s a long road, but with focus and perseverance, you’ll reach your destination.
