The collaborative single “Waves” reaches the top of Germany’s iTunes R&B/Soul chart, marking a major international milestone for both independent artists.
Independent artists Kormanec and Ozzient are making an international impression with their collaborative single, “Waves,” which has officially reached #1 on the iTunes R&B/Soul chart in Germany. The track has also climbed to #10 on Germany’s iTunes All Genres chart, demonstrating its reach beyond its genre category.
For two independent artists bringing their individual musical backgrounds together, the achievement represents a significant milestone and another example of independent music finding audiences across international markets.
Kormanec, an independent artist based in Renovo, Pennsylvania, has spent 15 years developing his craft as a lyricist and instrumentalist. His musical direction spans hip-hop, alternative, phonk, and R&B, with a creative identity built around experimentation and a distinctive darker aesthetic.
His career has already seen several notable milestones, including a #3 iTunes Canada chart peak, more than 1,000 international radio airplays, and a feature in The Source. The success of “Waves” adds another international achievement to his growing catalog.
Joining Kormanec is Ozzient, an artist born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, in 1994. Coming from a musically talented Guatemalan family, Ozzient developed a passion for art and music at an early age. Naturally quick to learn musical techniques, he has developed an impressive range of abilities, including piano, drums, güira, tambora, and beatboxing.
That diverse musical foundation gives Ozzient a unique creative perspective, bringing together instrumental knowledge, rhythm, and artistic expression. His collaboration with Kormanec represents the coming together of two different musical journeys with a shared passion for creating.
The success of “Waves” in Germany is particularly noteworthy. Reaching the top of the country’s iTunes R&B/Soul chart while simultaneously securing a position among the top 10 across all genres highlights the growing international footprint of the collaboration.
For independent artists, reaching international chart positions is a meaningful accomplishment. For Kormanec and Ozzient, it is a moment worth celebrating and another step toward expanding their respective audiences.
