Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky took the opportunity presented in a recent interview with Punch Bowl Blog to set the record straight about the racist rumors concerning Iggy Azalea. Azalea, who was featured on the XXL Freshman 2012 Cover, was called out for being “racist” by another up and coming rapper, Azealia Banks, when she pointed out Iggy dropping the lyrics “Tire marks, tire marks, finish line with the fire marks. When it really starts I’m a runaway slave…master” in her song “D.R.U.G.S.” Ever since the line was dropped, Azealia and Iggy have had words and have also gotten other celebs like T.I. involved. A$AP made it his goal to clear the air in the recent interview. He states, “They gotta cut it out. That’s bulls***. Iggy is not racist. Trust me–truuusst me.” He also goes on to say that Azealia is only attacking Iggy “because she’s white.” Iggy has tried to end all the drama by making a public statement, but that just doesn’t seem to satisfy Ms. Banks. If anyone has suggestions on how to end this beef, please let us know. The drama is distracting us all from the rap abilities that both the ladies possess.
