It started as a10 year old with a pen…..
Wingo Flames is a rap artist from the Nicetown section of Philadelphia. As a youth Wingo has been rhyming and writing thoughts on paper illustrating his craft. It wasn’t until age 16 when Wingo made the decision to step into the booth and record history. His bars reached the streets and those streets gave him the name “Young Flames”. Wingo determined that name was way too common, with so many other rap artists tagging the word “young” on their name. But boxing everyone out is the motto Wingo lives by so he decided to dropped the word young from the name replacing it with something more memorable that will let the people know where he is from; hence the name “Wingo Flames”. Wingo derived from the main strip in Nicetown called Wingohocking. Now at the age of 22, Wingo is focused more than ever reaching out with his music so that a message is clear. Through his music, Wingo focus is to reach audiences of all backgrounds. Wingo likes to say “Music comes from experiences and one thing we all can relate to is music.”
