The city of Atlanta was abuzz recently as the annual BET Hip Hop Awards brought a host of celebrities, actors, athletes, musicians and fans of urban culture from around the nation to the Peach State. The Award weekend was highlighted by another event honoring music icon and Epic Records Chairman & C.E.O., L.A. Reid: ASCAP’s 3rd Annual Rhythm & Soul Legends Dinner.
Our very own El Dorado was on location at the event’s red carpet and spoke with reputed hit maker Sean Garrett, about the influence L.A. Reid has had on his career, the differences between being a songwriter and being a performer, and the evolution of music in Atlanta.
Garrett also introduced us to his new artist, Avery Wilson, discussed his new label deal with Clive Davis, Doug Morris, and Sony Music and much more.
