Felicia “Snoop” Pearson pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of conspiracy to distribute heroin in Baltimore today, according to the Associated Press. Pearson, who played a terrifying and heartbreaking character named Snoop Pearson on David Simon’s Baltimore-set HBO drama The Wire, was one of 64 people arrested and charged back in March following a joint federal and local investigation into the east Baltimore drug trade. Her trial was scheduled to start tomorrow.

In March, Pearson said through a representative that she thought she was unfairly “targeted [by police] not only because of her portrayal of the memorable character ‘Snoop’ on HBO’s critically acclaimed series ‘The Wire’ but also because of where she is from in Baltimore.” She initially entered a not guilty plea on the drug conspiracy charges back in May.
The AP reports that Pearson avoids jail time with the deal, which includes a “seven-year sentence with credit for time served” and “three years of supervised probation with provisions for out-of-state travel for work.”

Outside the Circuit Court, Pearson declared to reporters, “I would have been found not guilty.” She added, “I’m moving to L.A.”
