Back in May, the CEO of Baltimore’s Heartless Records was admitted to the hospital and put on life support. Eric Lipscomb, a B-More native who suffers from Sickle Cell Anemia, was diagnosed with pneumonia. Months later, Lipscomp is still recovering but doing well. Doing his part for those who also suffer from the disease, Lipscomb will be donating $1,100 to the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America,” on behalf of the label. The money will go towards funding for research, says Lipscomb.

“So many people are affected by this disease but you rarely hear people talk about it. You have people who talk about cancer, diabetes and other diseases, but sickle cell always gets overlooked – due to the fact that it’s an African-American disease.”

Heartless Records, LLC is currently signed under Memphis based label, Select-O-Hits, Inc.
