Recently, HHS1987 sat down with Atlanta native Prestige Entertainment’s own Slicc Pulla to catch up on a few things and see what he has in store for the year 2015. We spoke with Slicc Pulla about his recent project “4th Ward Day 2” , his new label Prestige Entertainment, how Hip-Hop can save young black lives and more.
Slicc Pulla has been back in the booth lately so he discussed just how his “4th Ward Day 2” project came together. Being known for his word play and laid back delivery, Slicc Pulla broke down “4th Ward Day 2” explaining why he chose the title and how his Grandmother teaching and enforcing reading helped him become the artist he is today.
With all the recent turmoil taking place in our nation involving police brutality and the tragic death of black men, Slicc Pulla also opened up on how Hip-Hop can help raise awareness to young black men on how to handle certain situations with police officers that could possibly help them in the long run. As we continue to mourn the deaths of Michael Brown, Eric Gardner, Jordan Davis and so many other lives that were taking too soon, Slicc Pulla discussed ways to help find positive solutions and not add to the negativity or the problem.
As the interview concluded, we spoke with Slicc Pulla about his new film company, what we can expect from his Prestige Entertainment roster this year and how his single “Paid In Full” featuring Jeezy came about. Produced by The Academy’s own V12 The Hitman, Slicc Pulla discussed hearing the track for the first time and how it instantly took his to a time in the 80’s where dope boys wore Kangols and Adidas.
The interview was conducted by HHS1987’s Eldorado. The interview was shot by HHS1987’s Brian Da Director.
