The day is finally here. After two weeks of waiting and discussing all the possible matchups and scenarios that could take place, its time for the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots to settle the score on the field. On Sunday February 5th at 6:40pm, the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons will square off in Super Bowl 51.
The New England Patriots come into the Super Bowl with a overall record of (13-5) including the postseason. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady missed 4 games at the beginning of the 2016 season due to “Deflategate” but he returned to action as a man on a mission finishing the year with 28 touchdown passes, 2 interceptions for 3,554 yards. Tom Brady enters the game playing in his 7th Super Bowl with a current record of (4-2) in the big game. The Patriots come into Super Bowl 51 with the NFL’s best defense and they will need to play big if they hope to take the Lombardi Trophy back to New England.
The Atlanta Falcons come into tonight’s matchup with a overall record of (16-2) including the postseason surprising everyone expect Atlanta Falcons fans. In just his second year as the Falcons head coach, Dan Quinn has lead his team to the Super Bowl. Falcons QB Matt Ryan is the NFL offensive player of the year finishing the year with 38 touchdown passes for 4,944 passing yards. The Falcons two headed running back crew of Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman have been the best in the NFL this season and they will need to continue on Super Bowl Sunday if the Falcons want to win their first Super Bowl in franchise history.
Today I expect the Atlanta Falcons to come out and shock the world. Back in July of 2016, Falcons head coach Dan Quinn informed me of the culture changes he was making within his team and told me then to join the bandwagon. Needless to say I didn’t at that time and all season long, Quinn’s Falcons have grown in their brotherhood. Today I believe the Falcons will come out rolling. Last night Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was named the 2016 NFL MVP and he will perform as such tonight. I expect Ryan to pass for 3 touchdowns in Super Bowl 51 and pass for over 350 yards. The Falcons running game will be key to today’s game as well. Look for Atlanta Falcons running backs Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman to combine for over 175 yards rushing on the ground. The Falcons defense will be running around making plays all day and they will create three New England Patriots turnovers.
This is New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s seventh Super Bowl but I don’t think today’s game will go in his favor. Look for Tom Brady to pass for 2 touchdown passes and a total of over 280 passing yards. The Patriots will run the ball a lot tonight looking to keep the ball away from the Atlanta Falcons offense. The Patriots running backs will rush for over 200 yards collectively but it won’t be enough. The Patriots haven’t faced an opponent like the Falcons all season long and tonight I believe they will be exposed. I’m going with the Dirty Birds in Super Bowl 51.
