After serving fans with two solid R&B albums in the last three years including her recently released T.K.O. (2018) and Smoove Jones (2016) which was nominated for a Grammy, Mýa turns things up a notch, joining forces with female recording artist Tink for “G.M.O.” (Got My Own). “G.M.O.” (Got My Own) is an empowering, yet playful ladies anthem that proudly states that yes, we are independent women who hold and own our own, but we still welcome a man (the right man) to treat & spoil us.”
The single (not featured her new album, T.K.O.), is produced by Lamar “MyGuyMars” Edwards& Braylin “Resource” Bowman, written by Mýa Harrison, Lamar “MyGuyMars” Edwards & Trinity Home (Tink). “Recording G.M.O. with the super talented Tink was awesome. The delivery, cadence, perspective, she brings adds even more swag to Got My Own!” shares Mýa. “Also, working with producers MyGuysMars & Resource who are not only musical, but keep their ears close to the streets is so refreshing creating the perfect balance for me with a familiar, yet original sound.”
The “G.M.O.” audio single is available now on all digital and streaming outlets worldwide. The music video directed, produced, edited by Mýa & Dana Rice premiered September 3rd on BET’s as part of their “Mýa Monday” programming.
