If you recall, Trey Songz turned himself in on a domestic violence charge last month. The charge came from a woman, Andrea Buera, who accused the R&B singer of assaulting her at a Hollywood Hills party. In the ongoing ordeal, it looks as though Songz finally catches a break. The LA district attorney is apparently rejecting the felony criminal charge allegation after Songz’s lawyer, Shawn Holley, presented different witness accounts that contradicted the Buera’s statements.
While this is good news, it’s far from over. The LA City Attorney still has to decide if they’ll charge Songz with a misdemeanor charge for domestic violence.
After initial charges were made last month, Songz had sent out this Tweet:
For weeks my lawyers & Mgmt have asked me not to comment on this and I initially agreed but this morning I feel that my fam, the women that raised me, my friends & fans especially the youth need to hear from me. I am being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain
