KING YG DROPS “FTP” OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO

June 13, 2020 0

YG just released the visual for his new song FTP. It doesn’t matter if you listen to the song or watch the video, the message stays abundantly clear. The video starts with a quote from MLK saying “Riot is the language of the unheard”. YG wants to make it clear that the reason everyone who is resorting to rioting, is doing so because nothing else has worked before.
Throughout the video, you will see images of injustices that have been committed as a result of the riots and protests. In the opening shots you see the old man that got pushed down along with other miscellaneous injustices. Showing so many different types of injustice can really give the viewer a perspective of what and how much is really going on.
The video ends with a block of text saying

“ON JUNE 7, 2020, IN PROTEST OF THE POLICE BRUTALITY AGAINST HIS COMMUNITY, YG ALONGSIDE BLACK LIVES MATTER LOS ANGELES AND BLD PWR SUCCESSFULLY ORGANIZED A PEACEFUL PROTEST FOR 100,000 PEOPLE. ONE WHICH IS NOW BEING TOUTED AS THE LARGEST ANTI-RACISM MARCH IN LOS ANGELES CITY HISTORY. THE FOOTAGE CONTAINED IN THIS VIDEO CAPTURES A PORTION OF A HISTORICAL DAY TO DEMAND AN END TO POLICE BRUTALITY. JOIN THE MOVEMENT TO #DEFUNDTHEPOLICE

No matter how many strong visuals were in the video, I believe this block of text to be the most important thing in the video. The dictionary definition of power is the ability to do something or act in a particular way, especially as a faculty or quality. YG was able to bring 100,000 people out to peacefully protest, now that is true power!
