Early birthday celebrations of Lil Wayne kicked off as exciting news emerged. It was on Monday (Sept. 21) that Mack Maine, the president of Young Money Entertainment and a frequent collaborator, practically announced two gifts – for Weezy’s garage and one for his fans.

The video was shared on Young Money’s Instagram, wherein Maine chose to announce that the original version of Wayne’s 2018 LP Tha Carter V will be released on Friday (Sept. 25). This news was announced as the rapper was driving the other present aimed at Wayne — an amethyst McLaren.

“I heard y’all always wanted that OG CV, ya heard?” Maine said while driving the flashy new car and playing what appeared to be an unreleased Wayne song. “I’m bumping that [CV] right there and I’m gon’ make sure y’all can bump it, too. Carter V Deluxe — OG Carter V — baby. Happy birthday, Tunechi! The GOAT!”

Then, Maine pulled up to Weezy, who maintained a smile while taking a video of his new car.

“Y’all saw that smile? That’s what I did it for,” Maine said. “That smile was priceless. Just to see my little brother smile like that, I feel like I did my job.”

Initially, Tha Carter V was supposed to release in 2014. But a revised version of the album was released four years later, due to a long feud with Birdman as well as a contractual dispute with Cash Money Records. Later, some tracks from the original version of the album were leaked, which include “Just Chill” with Justin Bieber and “Mute” featuring Big Sean. There is no clarity regarding which tracks- the ones that were leaked or never heard- will be released in the upcoming version.

That’s not all! Recently, Wayne also teased his fans with the series’ next installment. In an appearance on ESPN, the rapper stated that “Carter VI [is] coming soon,” but not before another sequel — No Ceilings 3.

“I got No Ceilings coming first,” he explained. “No Ceilings 3.”

These two projects come after Wayne’s Funeral album released this year.
