Outkast’s Big Boi and Organized Noise’s Sleepy Brown have just announced their new collaborative album, The Big Sleepover along with a new single, “The Big Sleep Is Over.” A dancehall-leaning offering featuring Jamaican vocalist Kay-I, the new track mixes trunk-rattling 808s with Caribbean flavor that allows the distinct Southern lyricism of Big Boi to take center stage. The new single is accompanied by a woozy animated visualizer that sees the chart-topping rap heavyweight shrunk down to live out a bug’s life in the middle of a marijuana field. Following the release of the Killer Mike-featured “Lower Case (no cap),”“The Big Sleep Is Over” precedes the duo’s anticipated debut album, The Big Sleepover, set to release Friday, September 3, 2021 on HITCO. The pair is also announcing a Fall tour beginning with their headlining set at the MLS All-Star Game in Los Angeles on August 24th.

6-time Grammy-winning rapper Big Boi needs little introduction. Best known as one-half of landmark hip-hop crew Outkast alongside Andre 3000, the Savannah-raised rapper has gone on to have a successful solo career with the critically acclaimed Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son Of Chico Dusty in 2010 and 2017’s BoomiverseSleepy Brown is a member of the acclaimed, platinum-certified Atlanta production/writing trio Organized Noise, with Rico Wade and Ray Murray. Penning and producing hits for OutkastLudacris, and TLC, the trio is one of the most important production collectives in hip-hop history. Perhaps their most well-known collaboration, Billboard #1 single “The Way You Move” from Speakerboxxx proves that the duo of Sleepy Brown and Big Boi have always had a penchant for crafting chart-topping hits together.

The Big Sleepover was first teased in 2019, after the release of the duo’s hit single “Intentions” (feat. CeeLo Green). The duo went on to release subsequent singles “Can’t Sleep,”“We The Ones” (feat. Killer Mike & Big Rube), and “Lower Case (no cap)” also featuring Killer MikeThe Big Sleepover is the climax of the Dungeon Family reunion and will be released on 9/3.
