Born to a lawyer father and a professor mother in Jackson Heights, New York — a star was born by the name of loe4t. Growing up, loe4t was fortunate to have more resources than those around him, teaching him to be grateful for everything. Despite his parents’ occupations, he was raised to appreciate the art of poetry and music.
The Beginnings Of loe4t
Loe4t’s home was stacked with books and classic jazz and blues vinyls as a child. He began playing guitar when he was six years old after his father played him the Jimi Hendrix Experience. His father gave him a Sunburst Guild guitar made in the late 1960s in which he still plays today.
As a teenager, he began studying Nirvana songs on the guitar and began taking music more seriously. Pirating Ableton to create beats for his rapper friends in high school. Music was more than just a hobby for him; it became his primary priority. Loe4t is distinct in that he is specialized in jazz guitar and music theory. This enables him to sit in the pocket with a wide range of people and styles.
Music Turns From Hobby To Passion
Loe4t made his first beat for his friends in high school, but it wasn’t until 2019 that he published his first track as loe4t. He began his career as a guitarist for Hadji Gaviota of Queens, after which he joined the Goodstuff collective. The Delancey was sold out several times by loe4t and his Goodstuff label mates.Early in his career, he was a member of Dyna Edyne’s Afropunk Battle of the Bands.
Recently, he crafted a sold out set for Adam and Drezzdie at The Well in Brooklyn. He also curated a track titled “Wasting Time,” for another Goodstuff artist, Sukhleen. The record garnered over 100,000 streams and counting. In addition, he perfected Dummyfresh’s “Penelope.”
“Blue Skies,” a song by Goodstuff artist, Candace, was recorded by loe4t and has over 10,000 streams. While also playing guitar on a few of Ninjoi’s records. Other notable achievements include breaking 150,000 streams on his first unmixed and unmastered album.
The Sounds Of loe4t
Loe4t describes his sound as Hyperpop, lo-fi, boom bap, psychedelic cloud trap. The multi-talented artist claims that, despite the chaos and crazed nature of his music, there is an underlying harmonic glue that keeps it all together. His brand is described as absurdist, with the ability to find humor even in the most lavish settings.
In 2019, the Queens artist released his first official single, and finally getting the attention he deserves. After grinding for years, loe4t’s hard work has finally paid off. BeatStars/SonyMusic recently signed producer loe4t to a publishing contract.
What’s Next ?
The ultimate aim of loe4t’s career is to make successful records and extend his network to work with more artists. Loe4t started collaborating with BeatStars x Sony Music Publishing as of 2021.
