On Saturday, global sneaker retailer SNIPES, hosted a star-studded event in Atlanta, celebrating the rebrand of all Jimmy Jazz locations to SNIPES. The event, which was held at Cascade (Atlanta’s legendary skating rink) included performances from T-Pain, Kali, and Money Man. The event aimed to celebrate Atlanta’s contribution to culture and introduce the brand to Atlanta for the very first time.
Capitalizing on the success of the New York City rebrand last month, the SNIPES Atlanta event included a full takeover of Cascade, Atlanta’s iconic skating rink. The brand reimagined the skating SNIPES classic orange branding and signage. On-site, guests enjoyed portraits taken by Cam Kirk, one of hip-hop’s most legendary photographers. From there, guests could get custom grillz and tooth charms by Grillz by Scotty, who has created custom designs for everyone from T.I. to Issa Rae.
Atlanta has had an undeniable impact on mainstream culture. From its rich network of the country’s top HBCUs to breeding some of the biggest hip-hop stars, Atlanta has risen to become an epicenter of Black culture. Atlanta has birthed some of the most iconic architects of fashion, music, art, and culture. The SNIPES Atlanta takeover celebrated the city’s diverse culture while giving the community and consumers an opportunity to learn more about the new brand.
In late 2021, the global sneaker retailer closed a deal to purchase American sneaker chain Jimmy Jazz, which operates over 170 stores in the U.S.
