Superstar artist Da Kid K and JoSHH G make a statement with their new and trending collaborative EP titled “Last Call”. This project is short and sweet at 4 tracks, however; it takes you through a fun journey of two eligible bachelors living large and having fun while doing so. The songs are vibrant, filled with melodic rhythms, samples, and clever wordplay to highlight these artist unique skillsets within the music industry.
Starting off with the first track twisted (a smooth R&B sample from arguably one of the greatest to do it Keith Sweat) the artists get right to business expressing feelings and setting the tone for the ladies. Next up is Bartender (a retwist of the nostalgic hit from T-Pain & Akon), where the artists describe their typical experience on a day/night out for drinks. In this record as well as in the music video, the bartender is the muse for their storyline of the Last Call project.
Following up after Bartender is In Your Dreams, which serves as a braggadocios bop intended to highlight some of the luxuries of gaining attention from women while being a highly acclaimed artist. From Twisted to this record, it changes the tone to a more arrogant and club friendly record.
Lastly, we make our way to the title track and what most will be familiar with as the hit song from the project. Last Call begins with an intense voicemail from a very disgruntled woman, expressing her disdain for the lifestyle described in the previous song. It leads into smooth melodies, and the verses which capture the artist expressing the work that was put in to be in the limelight with no regrets to be had in reaching their ultimate goals. It ends with a continuation of the voice message, where the message is brought home that it will be the Last Call, the end of one chapter, and beginning of another!
