Earlier this month we got the official cover art and tracklisting for NYC’s underground prince Joey Bada$$‘ upcoming album B4.Da.$$. Today, we dig a little deeper and get a look into who’s providing the A-1 production for the highly anticipated body of work compliments of Joey’s in-house DJ/Producer Statik Selektah.
In addition to the usual home team contributions from Statik, Chuck Strangers, Lee Bannon and Kirk Knight the project also features some impressive instrumentation from Freddie Joachim, Basquiat, Sam I AM and The Soul Rebels.
Those credits alone would have any fan of boom-bap or hip-hop music in general on edge for the latest release from the Cinematic Music Group recording artist but it gets better. In conjunction with the a-fore-mentioned producers J Dilla, The Roots, Hit-Boy and DJ Premier also contributed to the selection of sounds offered on the new LP.
