Music mogul, Diddy, is always making moves whether it be hitting the charts or pushing his Sean John or Ciroc vodka. Now, the Harlem World representative is putting on for his city in a big way by opening his own charter school this fall. In a project, which has been in the works for five years, Mr. Combs is partnering with Capital Preparatory Schools to open the school located at 1 East 104th Street.
In a press release Diddy states, “I want to impact the lives of young people in my community, and build future leaders. The first step is offering access to a quality education.” The Associated Press reports, Capital Prep leader Steve Perry, who founded Capital Prep Magnet School in Hartford, Connecticut in 2005 will be head of the school with Orlando-based educator Danita Jones as principal. Congratulations to Diddy and Harlem as well, this is great for the community.
