Hailing from Ventura, California, Andrew Watson, known professionally as Yung Drew, has carved a lane for himself in the competitive world of hip-hop. With over 15 years of experience behind the mic, Drew has remained steadfast in his journey—evolving from a local rapper to a global artist, entrepreneur, and mental health advocate. Now, at 27 years old, his multifaceted career takes a monumental leap as he inks a major deal with Roc Nation and N.F.U Entertainment.
From Local Roots to Global Collabs
Growing up in a vibrant California music scene, Yung Drew was inspired early. He recorded his first session at DMXO Recording Studio in Santa Barbara, later performing live alongside Tyga at the Ventura Majestic Theatre. His creative drive and lyrical uniqueness have earned him collaborations with music heavyweights like Drake, Smiley, XXXTentacion, and Soulja Boy.
Drew’s recent single, “Riders”, is making major waves, while his emotionally driven track “Look Straight Thru Me” continues to trend globally, charting on the World Indie Chart. Up next is his highly anticipated single “Summertime”, set to drop in July 2025.

Beyond music, Yung Drew is the founder and CEO of Jeanne Rose Ent and Yung Drew Records. Named after the first artist he signed, Jeanne Rose, his label has quickly gained attention for empowering independent artists. In just months, Jeanne Rose earned a performance slot at the BET Hip Hop Awards, validating Drew’s vision for nurturing raw talent.
His credibility in the industry is further solidified by his role with Universal Music Group, where he recently received a promotion within the A&R division, giving him direct authority to sign new artists.
To date, Drew’s label and personal brand have amassed over 10 million streams, a World Indie Chart nomination, #1 indie artist rankings since 2018, and 20 national tour dates.
Mental Health Advocacy Through Fashion
