One of the albums most defining records “Collect Call,” is a collaboration between Killarmy veterans Killa Sin and Hoffa (HO2FA) featuring razor sharp scratches from Wu-Tang affiliate DJ Flipcyide. Flipcyide’s contribution added a classic turntable presence that connects the record to hip-hop’s Golden Era of the DJ and MC traditional format from the 70’s – 80’s and early 90’s.
“Collect Call” brings together two familiar artist from the camp, however their range has stretched far beyond the group. New Killa Sin is highly anticipated among Wu – Tang Clan fans and this record won’t disappoint.
For Killa Sin, whose career is closely associated with Killarmy and the wider Wu-Tang orbit, the collaboration carries particular weight. He is currently incarcerated, and the arrival of “Collect Call” puts his voice in front of his fans and listeners through a new release. The song’s title takes on added resonance in that context, while keeping the focus on the bars.
Hoffa’s pairing with Killa Sin gives the track a strong counterpart: two dope lyricists sharing the mic
with Flipcyide’s scratches reinforcing its raw, direct energy. “Collect Call” fits the spirit of BLAKTRILOGY Vol. 3, where artists from different eras come together across 13 tracks – Executive produced by Rhasun and Supreme the project is genius.
Released on October 30, via Dominion Hill Records / ROC Nation Distribution the album is the third and final chapter in Dominion Hill Records’ BLAKTRILOGY anthology featuring
