Public School 201 in Flushing, Queens has banned students from writing about Malcolm X for Black History Month projects. According to the school, the activist is too “violent” and “bad.” Parents were outraged saying that the teachers were imposing their opinion on the students and the students had to learn the good and bad of history. I agree with the parents on this one, Malcolm X is a huge part of not only Black History but American history as well. FYI: This is the same school that allowed a Kindergarten teacher to use a picture of a robber and gun as a spelling lesson.
