Former Philadelphia high school Simon Gratz basketball legend and former NBA World Champion Rasheed Wallace has announced he has retired from the NBA and that his days as a New York Knick have ended.

Wallace was able to play in 21 games this season with the New York Knicks before getting a stress fracture in his right foot and missing almost the rest of the season.

Wallace played 15 seasons in the NBA after being the fourth overall pick in the 1995 NBA draft by the Washington Bullets (now Washington Wizards) and  he won a title with the Ben Wallace, Rip Hamilton and Chauncey Billups and the Detroit Pistons against the Los Angeles Lakers in 2004.

Wallace will finish  his career with averages of 14.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. The four-time All-Star has been known as a volatile player and finishes as the all-time leader in technical fouls with 304.
