Last night, for the release of his highly anticipated album, “The Album About Nothing,” Wale surprised his fans with a free show at SOB’s in New York City. When the clock struck Midnight, Wale hit the legendary venue’s stage after a brief introduction from RapRadar’s, Elliott Wilson.
For two hours, Wale performed new tracks off #TAAN and goodies from his vault of hits such as “Slight Work,” “90210” and “Pretty Girls.” Another familiar face, J. Cole, joined in to perform their 2009 single, “Beautiful Bliss.” Riding off his own project’s release, J. Cole also performed his single, “No Role Modelz,” as the crowd joined in on the catchy hook. The surprise didn’t stop there, however, as fellow MMG artist, Meek Mill, jumped on stage and got the crowd even more hype with, “Intro (Dreams & Nightmares).”
Both J. Cole and Meek Mill shared some kinds words about their friend and fellow artist.
Even with such short notice on social media about the surprise show, the turn out at SOB’s was great last night. To cap the night off, Wale was presented with a plaque for two of his singles.
