Baker Mayfield Talks Winning AP Player of the Year Honors, the Oklahoma Sooners & More at the ESPN College Football Awards (Video)

On Thursday December 7th, the 27th edition of ESPN/ Home Depot College Football Awards presented by GILDAN took place at the College Football Hall of Fame in downtown Atlanta.

 

With conference championship games played and rankings set for upcoming Bowl games and the 2018 College Football Playoffs, the ESPN/ Home Depot College Football Awards celebrate athletes, coaches and fans for the game who have excelled on field during the year.

 

Taking his talents from a walk out to a contender to lead his team to a NCAA National Championship, Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield has had an exceptional season. Mayfield in his senior year with the Sooners passed for 41 touchdown and 4,340 passing yards. Mayfield’s talent on the field have earned him the 2017 Heisman Trophy, the Walter Camp award, Maxwell award and Davey O’ Brien award.

 

While on the ESPN/ Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet, Terrell Thomas caught up with Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield. Mayfield spoke on earning the 2017 AP Player of the Year honors, the Sooners being “Built Different”, the Heisman and more.
