The Atlanta Dream have signed guard Elīna Babkina to a training camp contract, the team announced Wednesday.
A 5-8 guard from Latvia, Babkina currently plays for Gundogdu Adana Basketbol in Turkey. She is averaging 19.4 points and 7.5 assists in 34.8 minutes per game during Turkish league play. A 10-year veteran, she has played throughout Europe and also represents her country with the Latvian women’s national team.

Last summer, she represented Latvia at the European Championships, averaging 20.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and a 4.5 assists over her country’s four games. Her experience with the Latvian national team includes helping the Under-20 team to a bronze medal at the 2009 FIBA Europe Championships.
Babkina was drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2011 WNBA Draft with the 29th overall pick, and attended the Sparks’ training camp prior to the 2011 season, and joined their camp again in 2015.
